Can’t Stop the Clock

This song also came from Steve’s days with Peer Pressure.  While this song never made it into Peer Pressure’s repertoire, Steve always had a vision for the song.  The lyrics and chords were written by Brandon Powell, however, Steve was the one who kept it alive.  Actually at a high school reunion, Steve and Brandon roomed together and Steve had a version of Can’t Stop the Clock on Garageband on his iPhone and a Bluetooth speaker.  He played the song for Brandon on Brandon’s Takemine acoustic guitar. Brandon commented that he couldn’t remember the song and that it was Steve’s song now.  Well, Steve certainly developed the song but the basic chords and lyrics are all BP.

Steve had always envisioned Can’t Stop the Clock with a Spaghetti Western style with classic tremolo guitar.  When Steve and Moss were recording in the summer of 2025, Steve had only a Friedman Runt amplifier and a tremolo pedal, which was okay but wasn’t exactly the sound he’d envisioned.  Then, fortunately, he stumbled on United Audio’s Guitar Amp Plugin Bundle, and the Dream ‘65 Reverb worked like a charm! Steve recorded the guitar parts with the metronome, and Match Grip did a couple of dry runs to get levels and warm up, and then nailed the song in one take.
